These bamboo rakes are for more than just grooming. They’ll clean, reduce knots, remove loose undercoat, stimulate blood flow and increase natural coat oils.
Gently use the rake to comb away from your dog’s skin in the same direction as the coat grows. Use short strokes all over the coat until you have removed all the loose hair. Take your time to carefully untangle any knots, just as you would with your own hair. If the tangles aren’t coming out easily, try applying some Leave in Conditioner and use the rake or a comb to separate the knot. Follow with the slicker brush. If you are unable to loosen the knot, it’s time to visit your professional groomer or vet. We don’t recommend using scissors to cut out knots, as sometimes you can accidently cut your dog’s skin. If your dog is nervous with the rake, take it slow and keep the experience positive – working on small areas at a time and using treats or rewards can help.
Brushing is for more than just grooming. A daily brush will improve your dog's skin and coat health, and will reduce the amount of hair shed around your home.
We’ve made it even easier for you to give your dog the best skin and coat care.
