Cats are the best. They toilet‑train themselves. The problem is their “toilet” is part of your decor. And no matter how many fancy litters you’ve tried, that litter box keeps stinking. So we made a fragrance-free litter from absorbent Australian oats with odour-neutralising natural enzymes. The neat little pellets don’t track, they clump fast. When you’re done, they biodegrade back into the earth. No smell, no mess, no worries. Litter-ally life-changing.
Shake bag before use.
First time use
When first transitioning to this litter, do so gradually over 5–7 days. Start with 1/4 new litter mixed with old litter, then gradually increase the new litter while decreasing the old litter. Keep the litter box in its usual spot and clean it regularly. If your cat is hesitant, slow the change.

For optimal urinary tract health, normal voiding and toilet training, Dr Lisa recommends that each cat has one litter box plus a spare - ensure the box is the right size. Cats prefer clean litter boxes, so remove soiled litter frequently. To reduce toileting stress, ensure that litter boxes are in quiet areas away from food and water. Seek prompt veterinary advice if you notice any changes in your cat’s toileting behaviour.
Frequently Asked Questions
For cats and households prioritising natural, low-chemical products, Oat Litter offers several advantages over clay (bentonite) and silica litters. It's 100% plant-based and biodegradable, produces low dust, is fragrance-free and colour-free, and neutralises odours through natural activated enzymes rather than synthetic masking agents. It also clumps fast for easy scooping. Clay and silica litters are not biodegradable and often contain additives like synthetic fragrances or dyes.
Yes. CAT Oat Litter uses natural activated enzymes to neutralise odours at the source rather than masking them with fragrance. This makes it suitable for cats and their parents who are sensitive to artificial scents.
Yes. CAT Oat Litter is recommended and used by vets, including Dr Lisa Chimes. Vets particularly value its fragrance-free, low-dust formulation, which reduces irritation for cats with urinary tract sensitivities or respiratory issues. Dr Lisa also advises using one litter box per cat plus a spare, placed in separate quiet areas of the home, away from food and water.
CAT Oat Litter is made from Australian oats combined with natural binding and odour-control ingredients including starch (wheat, tapioca), pea fibre, guar gum, potassium sorbate, and natural activated enzymes. It does not contain silica, bentonite, calcium carbonate, fragrances, bleaching agents, formaldehyde, propylene glycol, or animal products — making it a plant-based, chemical-free choice.
Yes. CAT Oat Litter is free from fragrances, dyes, silica dust, and harsh chemicals, making it a gentle option for kittens (and cats of all ages). Its low-dust formula is especially important for young cats and those with respiratory sensitivities. As with any litter transition, introduce it gradually over 5–7 days to help kittens adjust comfortably.

Many conventional clay litters are mined from the earth and can produce large amounts of dust when poured or scooped.
Our natural kitty litter is made from the by-product of oat processing. This renewable plant material forms pellets that are highly absorbent and naturally help neutralise odour.
Oats have a natural pH of around 6–7, which helps reduce ammonia smell from cat urine before it becomes noticeable. This, coupled with our effective ingredients and odour neutralising natural enzymes results in an odourless cat litter that keeps litter trays fresher without relying on strong artificial fragrances.
Because it’s plant-based, this biodegradable cat litter breaks down naturally in water and can be used as flushable cat litter in small amounts (always check local plumbing regulations first).
Our clumping kitty litter quickly forms clumps when it comes into contact with moisture. This makes daily scooping easier and helps keep the rest of the litter tray clean and dry.
The natural enzymes in our Oat litter neutralise odours at the source. The result is a litter box without the usual stench.
Cats are very sensitive to scents, and artificial fragrances can also contain toxic compounds, which is why we have eliminated all fragrance from this litter.
Dust from traditional clay litter can irritate both cats and humans. This oat-based litter produces minimal airborne dust, supporting healthier air quality around the litter tray.
The pellet shape is designed to reduce tracking outside the tray. This helps minimise litter being carried through the house on paws.
This biodegradable kitty litter is made from renewable, plant-based ingredients that break down naturally over time. Choosing plant-based litter can help reduce environmental impact compared with mined clay products.
Litter tray hygiene works best when it forms part of a consistent daily routine.
Use this natural cat litter alongside cat wipes to clean paws if your cat tracks litter outside the tray. For accidents elsewhere in the home, a reliable pet urine cleaner helps neutralise odours and discourage repeat marking.
Combined with other cat care products, these small habits help maintain a cleaner environment and support your cat’s comfort and wellbeing.
Our B-Corp Certified Australian-made cat litter was developed by Dr Lisa Chimes, a veterinarian who designs products based on real feline behaviour and health needs. We donate a portion of revenue to animal welfare causes.
The goal is simple: practical products that support both feline wellbeing and everyday household cleanliness.
This litter is formulated to help support respiratory comfort through low dust, reduce odour naturally, and provide a comfortable texture for cats using the litter tray.
Your cat deserves a clean and comfortable space. A well-chosen litter makes that routine easier for both of you.

Scoop the litter tray daily to keep it clean and minimise odour. Since cats prefer a clean litter box, regular scooping will assist with urinary tract health by encouraging your cat to urinate. The more you can scoop, the better. Top up the tray with fresh litter as needed. Each cat in the household should have one litter tray, plus one spare - so if you have multiple cats, you will need multiple litter trays.
Some flushable cat litter products break down in water and can be flushed in small amounts. However, always check your local plumbing regulations first. Certain septic systems and municipal sewage systems do not allow pet waste disposal. If unsure, it is safest to dispose of litter in the bin, or bury it in your garden away from edible plants.
Cats can be sensitive to changes in their litter tray. When transitioning to this litter for the first time, do so gradually over 5–7 days. Start with 1/4 new litter mixed with your old litter, then gradually increase the amount of new litter while decreasing the old litter. Keep the litter box in the same location and clean it regularly. If your cat is hesitant, slow the change.
Clumping kitty litter absorbs moisture and forms solid clumps that can be scooped out easily, leaving the remaining litter clean.
Non-clumping litter absorbs moisture but does not form clumps, meaning the entire tray typically needs to be changed more frequently.
Many cat owners prefer clumping litter because it makes daily maintenance simpler and helps control odours more effectively.
